.Murphy’s Law

.i was going to talk about women, but i’ll save that for another day… cuz that will probably end up being a book. Lets talk about the premiere. *wipes hand off forehead* if you only knew what went down… Many people were impressed and we received a lot of positive feedback about the showcase, BUT MAN OH MAN if you only knew what what happened leading up to the premiere. So let’s start with me only getting about 8 hours of sleep from monday till that thursday… I’ll admit, i didn’t shower for 4 days LOL, long story. ANYWAY, so that thursday I wake up at 7am excited to export the film and the ‘pre-show’ for the showcase that night so i clicked ‘FILE, EXPORT QUICKTIME MOVIE’. Oh, and the progress was going so smooth. I was tired, because the night before I stayed up till 6am, so I said to myself, nap, because the night will be long. So i sleep. *sleeping* I wake to the sound of my cousin coming in his room. I make my way to the computer and the file is still exporting. It’s about 1230 right now. I get a call from my cousin Sean who flew in from LA, and he wanted to chill b4 the big night. So he comes up and everything going great. We’re all vibing, and listening to the radio because my BMP team is on it promoting… 1 o’clock hits and the file is 50% exported. Final Cut Shuts down. 6 hours till showtime. I’m getting a bit worried, but not to worried because theres still a decent amount of time. I decided to export the ‘pre-show’ and ‘film’ separately just in case, I can’t make the time. I take my cousins new computer and export the ‘pre-show’. it’s flying. then i take my computer and export the film. Slow as all hell. Ok, don’t worry, it’ll be fine. 3 o’clock hits. both shows are exported. OK cool… Now transfer them to a external hard drive and then on a PC because the PC has a blue-ray burner we bought, just for the show. *remember to return that*. So, now, all-day the PC was opening various external hard-drives, but for some reason at this moment NOTHING WAS OPENING. So i have two files on two different computers… Everyone begins flipping out as the clock turns 4. We figured out a way to transfer the pre-show onto my laptop, so now i have the two files on my desktop. Great. The two files are too big for DVD, i don’t have a blue-ray burner on my laptop, and i have 600 people coming to the show. I felt like leaving the house and not running away. Wait. Stop. Think. Okay, the theater has a projector, and every business meeting people hook laptops up to projectors to present their 9-5’s. Ok coo, so we’ll just run over to the theater real fast thats all the way in cambridge to see if the hook-up is possible. 5 o’clock. Me and my cousin Logan head out and the car is silent. I felt like i was heading to a championship basketball game, i had the same exact feeling. So we arrive, run up to the projector room, check the projector. and WALAH! we have the necessary port. We’re smiling as we exit and head back home. Arriving home, we both jump in the shower (finally) and get ready. I looked a mess, but really didn’t care i just needed this projector to work. We make our way back to the theater, and to the projector room to find out, that the projector and my laptop were both female ports. *MY HEART SUNK* Jake is running around snatching cords, and plugging them in to figure out audio, and i stand there SMH. Logan then pulls out a cord that has two male ends. 6:45. people are piling in, and we’re still tampering with the machine. I don’t think I, or them have EVER moved as fast as we were with all of the electronics up in the room. As everything began to plug n ever port, picture displayed sharp, sound was blaring crisp, I looked up and said THANK YOU GOD! And on with the show…
